An Office like a Newsroom

Sparkasse

Building Redevelopment, Berlin, 2020

The Newsroom is the new extraordinary office of the communication experts of the Deutschen Sparkassen- und Giroverbands und des Sparkassen-Finanzportals in a former gym in Berlin-Mitte.

Sophisticated architectural organization enables new ways of working:

With a high proportion of customized solutions, spatial challenges such as the low ceiling height, the acoustics in the open space, the relatively low incidence of daylight and cable management could be optimally solved.
In the past it was a gym – today brain cells can be trained, communication concepts trimmed and PR projects mastered.

Special workstations are located in the so-called "news desk" area. Here, under a large ceiling window, current topics are discussed at a long table, just like in a newspaper editorial office. White boards on the walls provide areas for exchanging information and developing ideas together.
Kinzo was involved in the project from an early stage and accompanied the change management process. In workshops and by means of surveys among the employees, functional requirements were examined as well as the mood of the teams. These findings formed the basis for the design of the premises.
