Kaiserliches Postfuhramt

Placemaking, Berlin, 2020

The former imperial Postfuhramt was one of the largest public authority buildings in Berlin, built in 1881 by the architect Carl Schwatlo. The building between Oranienburger-, Tucholsky- and Auguststreet was used for postal operations until 1995. After various interim uses by Berlin's art, culture and club scene, the building was acquired by a new owner in 2012 and has been remodelled and restored as a historic monument in recent years.
