Reflection of the corporate culture and home for employees:
The MOL campus in Budapest offers a working environment inspired by urban life - with places for community and exchange, but also with spaces for retreat and concentration.

Central elements of the design concept are the lush greenery and so-called microarchitectures. The greenery runs through the building like a green ribbon, from the exterior to the atriums and up to the floors. In individual areas, the greenery condenses into veritable green spaces.

In order to structure the wide, open spaces of the office floors and to locate functions such as meetings, kitchen or checkroom, Kinzo has designed its own microarchitectures. Along the facade they expand into spaces like soap bubbles. Inside the floors, they rest like heavy boulders between workstations. Their crystalline form contrasts with the organic architecture of the building.
The use of color also plays an important role in the project: strong tones in sometimes stark contrasts enliven the facility and offer employees visual identification moments.

Modelled after urban structures

For Kinzo, it was crucial to make use of Foster + Partners' open, transparent architecture and accomodate it to the needs of the company and its employees. The urban structure of a city served as a model for the new, multifaceted interior with around 3,600 workplaces on a total area of 43,000 square meters.

The office building, designed by Foster + Partners of London, is Hungary’s tallest building at 28 stories. The company is in a state of flux: With its long-term strategy „2030+“, the MOL Group has set itself the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

In 2017, Kinzo prevailed against numerous international competitors with the concept of initiating and promoting this cultural change with the help of an agile working environment in the energy company.

In their role as general planners, Kinzo Architects had overall responsibility for the workplace strategy as well as the conception and planning of the interior architecture of the MOL campus. Cooperation partners were M.O.O.CON from Vienna for employee participation, the lighting design office Licht Kunst Licht and the local partner MinusPlus Architects.
