On 25,000 square meters, the sustainable campus offers a modern and open working environment for around 1,300 employees; at the same time, it contributes to the regional identity.
This inviting character already unfolds in the entrance area, where visitors are welcomed by a two-part, dynamic and wave-shaped light installation – designed by Susanne Philippson and Kinzo’s senior project architect Eliana Martinis.
The concept implies a non-hierarchical and cross-divisional use of space – whether board member or consultant, everyone finds a place in the open office landscape for good cooperation, more encounters and better knowledge exchange.
The immediate proximity to this science and technology location creates the best conditions for innovation and networking. The campus itself, which was realized by BAUWERT AG, comprises two solitary buildings on the “Square 1” site, which are connected by a link in the basement and barrier-free bridges on the second and third floors.
The new BSK-Johannisthal headquarters will not only create a modern workplace, but also a lively campus that will make Berliner Sparkasse fit for the future and at the same time make a sustainable contribution to urban development.
