FinTech needs more space

Think globally, act locally

New Work, Berlin, 2026
Why an existing building— and why now? Today, international fintech companies are no longer looking for office space. They’re looking for a location that enables growth, global collaboration, and a local presence all at once. That’s exactly why the decision was made to choose an existing building in Kranzler Eck: central, visible, and easily accessible.

Requirements: global, complex, precise

The starting point was clearly defined—and challenging: an office design for hybrid collaboration across time zones, featuring a high density of meeting, focus, and communication rooms, as well as secure areas for confidential information.

“From the very beginning of the project, it was clear that Kinzo has a comprehensive understanding of how FinTech companies operate. What impressed us most was the attention to detail — from wayfinding and material choices to shared spaces such as the kitchen.

They succeeded in bridging global corporate guidelines with the culture of the local team, creating a workplace that employees and visitors immediately connect with. At the same time, their strong design expertise and technical know-how enabled them to respond very precisely to our requirements.”

These were based on a predefined test fit and detailed program requirements from numerous internal stakeholders—ranging from IT/AV to security and facilities.

Our answer: Structure creates freedom

We didn’t reinvent these guidelines; we took them a step further: We optimized floor plans, shortened walkways, and defined zones more clearly.

Open workspaces, quiet zones, and a dense network of meeting rooms, chat rooms, and phone booths are seamlessly integrated, providing exactly what international teams need—smooth communication and uncompromised focus.

Implementation: Coordination as a Core Discipline
A project of this magnitude doesn’t happen behind closed doors. The planning took place in close coordination with the landlord, specialist planners, and international user teams—from the initial layout study through to execution. Adjustments, such as new floor plans or technical redesigns, were continuously integrated and precisely incorporated into all planning stages.

Identity Within the System
From a design perspective, this complexity translates into clarity: open ceilings, precisely integrated technical systems, a nuanced material and color concept, and specific branding and signage elements. Everything adheres to global guidelines—while simultaneously creating a work environment that functions locally and immediately feels right.
