Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer

Building Redevelopment, Berlin, 2023

Kinzo has remodeled and refurnished three floors in the Potsdamer Platz 1 high-rise building in Berlin for the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. The brief was for an inviting, homely interior design with space for exchange and meetings - more like a city apartment or boutique hotel than corporate headquarters. The prestigious corner offices with the best views were transformed into lounges and cafeterias.

More transparency, more atmosphere: Kinzo have converted around 3,000 square meters of office space for the Berlin branch of the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. The address is prominent: three floors in the Potsdamer Platz 1 tower block, a brick building designed by architect Hans Kollhoff and completed in 1999. The aim was to meet the high expectations of the internationally active law firm: What was needed was an atmospherically pleasant, inviting interior design without contemporary experiments that would work from day one. In this project, building in existing structures meant tailoring the existing structure into a perfectly fitting bespoke suit.
